Liddy Silver is an interior design studio based in Kensington, London. We work across London and undertake selected projects elsewhere in the UK and Europe.
-
We begin by listening, and by looking closely. How someone lives, the things they have collected and the rooms they feel drawn to often tell us more than a description of their preferred style.
We talk about the building, daily routines and the atmosphere they would like to create. Gradually, a thread emerges. Our role is to recognise it and bring it into focus, shaping a home that feels personal, comfortable and entirely natural to its setting.
-
We specialise in the renovation and reinvention of existing homes, from London apartments to period houses. Our services range from one-hour design consultancy and focused support for a particular room or decision to the complete design and delivery of a home.
Depending on the project, we can provide space planning, interior architecture, bespoke kitchens and joinery, lighting, colour and material schemes, furniture and art selection, and coordination through construction and installation.
-
Resolving the layout. It is the foundation of the interior, informing every decision that follows: the scale and position of furniture, the lighting, the joinery and the way materials meet.
In our Whitechapel apartment, the layout allowed a compact home to accommodate dining for six, generous beds and substantial storage. A dining banquette, an integrated headboard and carefully concealed household services were all developed around the way the rooms would be used. The apparent ease of the finished interior comes from that early work.
-
A home that feels as though it belongs to its owners. The rooms work naturally, the things they love have found their place, and there is pleasure in both the whole and the smallest detail.
We want clients to feel delighted when they first walk through the door, and just as comfortable years later. A successful interior accommodates life and grows more interesting as life leaves its mark.
-
We are interested in what feels fresh, and in what deserves to last. A contemporary chair, an unexpected colour or a crisp stripe can bring new energy to a room with classical proportions.
Our attention is always on the relationship between the elements. Craftsmanship, good materials and a well-judged layout give an interior its staying power; colour, pattern and a little irreverence keep it lively.
-
Elegance is quiet confidence. It comes from proportion, restraint and knowing when a room has enough.
It also has room for surprise: a sculptural light, an unusual antique or a colour that gives the whole scheme a lift. The interiors we enjoy most have grace and personality in equal measure.
-
Quality is something you can feel. A handle should have substance in the hand. A drawer should open beautifully. Timber, stone and fabric should reward a closer look.
It is also present in the less visible decisions: a carefully resolved junction, storage that fits what it needs to hold, or lighting placed exactly where it is useful. Those details make everyday life more pleasurable.
-
Yes. Existing furniture, artwork and collections can help shape a room from the beginning, informing its layout, proportions, colours, lighting and atmosphere.
Before founding Liddy Silver, Ann Bamelis worked as an art and antiques valuer at Sotheby’s and Dreweatts. That experience brings an understanding of individual pieces, their history and the relationships between them.
We enjoy combining treasured belongings with contemporary design. Whether the starting point is a painting, an inherited cabinet or a collection assembled over many years, we consider how to give those pieces a meaningful place within your home.
-
We prepare the drawings, schedules and specifications needed to communicate the design clearly. Where included in our appointment, we also develop tender documentation, assist with contractor selection and attend site meetings to review progress and resolve design details.
We work with specialist makers, joiners, upholsterers and curtain makers to carry the design through with care. Particular attention is given to proportions, material junctions and finishes, where the quality of the completed interior is often most apparent.

Yes. Our one-hour consultancy takes place via Zoom and is shaped around the questions you would like to resolve. It can focus on a room layout, colours and materials, furniture, lighting, joinery ideas or an existing design proposal.
After booking, we send a questionnaire and ask you to share photographs, plans and any relevant information. We review these before the session and follow up afterwards with a written summary of the key recommendations and next steps.
